DIY Snow Globe

The Funko Bitty's make these fun.

The one pictured here is a Jack Skellington and Zero is

jumping spider habitat, I also have an Oogie Boogie one.

Now for those of you who don't have a jumping spider or

are not thinking of getting a jumping spider, that is okay.

You can turn this into Halloween or Christmas snow globes.

A couple tricks; for Halloween use some moss down

at the bottom, for Christmas use the directions listed below.

You don't have to use The Nightmare Before CHristmas

Funko Bitty's there are tons to choose from, ready? Let's go.

What you'll need is a plastic jar with a tight lid, a small

mason jar or a large mason jar pending on how big or small

you want to make it. Just make sure the lid is tight!

Hot glue gun or super glue

Distilled water

Liquid glycerin or light corn syrup

Fake snow or glitter (find at craft stores)

Small plastic trees, animals, houses, or other decorations.

Create:

Use the superglue or hot glue to affix your

trees or other decorative items to the inside of the lid. Let dry.

2. Fill a jar about 3/4 full of water

(or about 1/2 if using corn syrup).

3. Put a few pinches of glitter or fake snow in the jar.

4. Screw the lid on very tightly.

5. Turn your jar upside-down and watch the snow fall

inside your homemade DIY snow globe.

6. Now add several drops of liquid glycerin

(or an equal amount of corn syrup) making sure you leave room for air at the top. Repeat step 5.

7. Finally, if you like, you may decorate the base (lid)

of your snow globe with ribbon, fabric, or pretty paper.

***I apologize that is the best picture I

could take, there is spiderweb throughout the container.

Fall Simmering Potpourri

I love the smell of fall, I even like fall itself.  I just don't like what follows... winter!  However I love walking in my home and smelling  the fall scents that are so warm and inviting. Making this simmering potpourri is extremely easy! What you'll need: Tangerine or orange peels Cloves Cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon Vanilla extract Pumpkin pie spice Water Small crockpot, saucepan or tea kettle You can choose how much you want to put in  of what, there really is no magic amount. I normally put  in more of my favorite scents. If using a tea kettle  or a sauce pan keep in mind you will have to keep  adding water to it. If you use a crockpot you  will not have to keep adding water and you can keep  it on even when you're asleep. Some other ideas that you can add are: Apple juice (instead of water) Cranberries Nutmeg Anise (one of my favorites) Dried fruit Coffee beans Have you ever made a simmering potpourri pot?  What do you normal...
