Tired of Being Broke??

A lot of struggle, whether it's paycheck to paycheck or right now with the holidays or maybe gas and the inflation of everything has got your wallet empty? Here are 8 "habits" to try and get into if you're tired of being broke all the time. Discover why you're broke: If you want to fix your situation (if it's possible to fix) you need to get to the root of the cause. Is it an income problem, a spending problem or both? The only way to save money is to spend less than what you earn, meaning decrease your expenses or increase your income. 2. Stop paying interest on debt: Have you heard of a balance transfer credit card? Break up with your interest on your other cards and get out of debt faster with the balance transfer card. YOu transfer all of your credit card debt to one of the balance cards. This gives you ONE payment a month and the interest rate on it could even be significantly lower. You will pay no or low interest for 12-18 months (depending on your cr

Indoor Ice Skating Rink

Let's face it, kids get cabin fever too. At some point during late fall and winter they can really no longer go out to play and if they do it's not for long. This is a fun way to keep the kids busy if you have the room to do so. For the rink itself all you have to do is take clear plastic and tape it to your floor. Give the kiddos the fuzzy socks and let them skate around. If you wanna dress it up and give more than just the spot to skate, you can make a hot chocolate stand as well as make an ice fishing spot. All you need is a medium sized box, white paper and some kid fishing poles.

Quote of the Day 12/1/21

December..we've made it through Thanksgiving but we still have Christmas and New Years Eve. A lot of people spend the holidays alone, a lot of people worry about gaining too much weight during the holidays and a lot of people could be going through seasonal depression on top of whatever else they may be going through. So I am going to do a wellness check in on everybody one day of each week. Feel free to vent, tell a story, give motivation to others; whatever may be on your mind. ~Start by doing what's necessary, then do what's possible; and suddenly you are doing the impossible~

Slow Cooker Coca~Cola Pulled Pork

So I have done the Dr. Pepper roast but I haven't done this recipe yet. Has anyone ever made a recipe similar to this one? If so, you'll have to tell me if it's good. This recipe serves 8. What you'll need: Crockpot 1 3 1/2lb boneless pork shoulder (you can use a loin) 1 can of Coca~Cola 3/4c Coca~Cola 3/4c ketchup 2T vinegar 2T worcestershire sauce 1T minced onion flakes 1/2tsp chili powder 1/2tsp salt How to create: Put your pork into your crockpot and pour the can of coke over the pork. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours. When the pork is almost done combine all the other ingredients into a saucepan. Stir well and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes stirring occasionally. Shred your pork and mix it with your bbq sauce. Serve with your favorite sides.

How to Help Your Eyebrows Grow

As you get older you may start noticing hair loss and I'm not talking about your head. I've noticed over the last few years that my eyelashes and my eyebrows aren't as full as they once were. When it comes to the eyebrows I have found that there are a few simple things you can do to help them grow better. Before I tell you those, let me tell you something you shouldn't do...don't pluck them or wax them, you may find they don't want to grow back. Also you may want to have your iron checked. Now definitely take some biotin, it's great for your hair and nails. You can buy some roller balls and fill it with castor oil and rub on your eyebrows a couple times a day. Lastly you can buy those expensive eyebrow serums. I checked out a bunch of the serums and reviews just for you, the top 2 are; NourishBrow & GrandeBrow.

Simple Simmering Potpourri

I love making my house smell good. I use a wax warmer, essential oil diffuser and even simmer potpourri, it really depends on what I'm in the mood for. This is honestly the cheapest and easiest one! What you'll need: Large saucepan 2 lemons, sliced 1T vanilla extract 2 sprigs of rosemary water Create: Mix everything together in the sauce pan, turn on high heat to get it boiling and then turn it down to a simmer, add water as needed.

Chocolate Mint Boozy No Bake Pie

I could eat this anytime of the year but it's great for Christmas time. I am even going to tell you what to do to make a virgin pie in case your kids get jealous! What you'll need: Chocolate graham cracker pie crust 7oz marshmallow creme 8oz cool whip 1/4c creme de menthe (or for virgin; 1/c milk, 1/4 tsp peppermint extract) 6-7 chocolate mint cookies; grasshopper or thin mints are recommended, you could also use 12 andes mints Create: Mix together all ingredients except the cookies, mix well and add to your pie crust. Crumble your cookies or andes mints as well as you can and sprinkle over the top of the pie. Place pie in the fridge for at least 3 hours and then serve.

Grinch Punch

I can remember making this as a kid myself. It was one of my favorite drinks as a kid. So much so we didn't just make it at Christmas time. It's very easy to make. Adults you could always booze it up for a Christmas party or just because. This recipe serves 12 What you'll need: Punch bowl Serving ladle  1 1/2 gallon lime sherbet 1 2 liter sprite 1 gallon green hawaiian punch 1 can pineapple juice (46oz) Create: Mix and stir all ingredients except the sherbet. Once mixed together place the sherbet on top in the punch bowl. You can leave it out for a couple of hours, if it lasts that long.

Rhythm and Blues

You may be wondering why the title of this blog post is rhythm and blues? Well it has nothing to do with jazz! It’s all about trying to find a rhythm in life; right now it has been difficult for me, how are you doing? You guys know I have bipolar disorder in association with ADHD and I think I have come to realize I have a small touch of OCD. Now you throw in the seasonal depression and BAM! Honestly the blues started a while ago over numerous reasons and now with the cold and the dark here it’s making it even harder. I don’t want to complain though…. So enough with the blues, let's talk about the rhythm. I used to have a good rhythm about 4 years ago. I got up, drank some coffee and headed to the gym. I haven’t been in that rhythm for a long time now. I want to start a new rhythm, maybe not jumping out of bed and going straight to the gym but definitely need the gym. Over the last couple weeks I started going to a yoga class that I love and I also did a water aerobics class wh
