Say Goodbye to Oily Hair

Do you suffer from oily hair? My son does, he has it really bad! I knew one trick and that is to wash your hair once a week with blue dawn dish soap. I have learned a few more tricks and wanted to share with you! Try mixing 3T of apple cider vinegar with 1C of warm water. After you wash your hair apply the solution to your scalp and hair. Let sit for 5 minutes and then rinse with cold water. You can do this 3-4 times a week. You can also use this solution; mix 2tsp of aloe vera gel and 2T lemon juice with a cup of water. Mix well, wash hair as usual and then use this mixture to rinse your hair, leave it on for a few minutes and rinse with cold water you can do this once a week. Baking soda? Yes you can, sprinkle about a half a teaspoon into your scalp and brush it to spread it out. Leave it sit for 10 minutes and then rinse with cold water. You can do this once a week.

Strengthen Your Knees

A lot of people have knee pain and it can be for various reasons. Here are a few things you can do to strengthen your knee. Leg lifts: Lie down flat on the floor. Keep your left leg straight and bend the right leg slightly at the knee, bringing the foot closer to the body. Tighten your core, slowly lift the left leg without bending the knee. Keep the toes pointed toward the ceiling and stop when the leg is about 12" from the floor. Hold for 5 seconds, slowly lower your leg back down. Repeat 2 times and switch legs. Standing hamstring curls: Stand straight with the knees about 2" apart, slowly bend one knee behind the body, continue to lift the heel in a smooth motion until the knee bend reaches a 90 degree angle. Keep the straight leg slightly bent to avoid locking it. Hold the bent leg up for 5 seconds and slowly lower. Repeat 2 more times and switch legs. Step exercises: Use a large sturdy stool, exercise platform or a step...

Saganaki

This is a recipe for greek fried cheese. Wouldn't call it healthy but we are allowed to eat things from time to time that aren't the best for you....lol I love greek foods & I love cheese so I can definitely see myself making this! This is an appetizer recipe and it serves 2 Ingredients: 1 piece of saganaki cheese (probably found at a whole foods) flour for dredging evoo for frying 1/2 lemon cut into wedges Instructions: In a small skillet heat the evoo on medium high heat. You want enough oil that the bottom of the skillet is well coated. Dredge cheese in flour Once the oil is hot add the cheese. Fry for a few minutes on each side until it's golden brown. It may stick a little, so use a metal spatula to loosen it and then flip. Serve immediately with lemon juice squeezed over the cheese.

DIY Dry Shampoo

I don't need dry shampoo anymore since my hair is so short but I used to use it a lot when I had my longer hair. Here is a simple recipe you can do at home. It yields 1/4c Ingredients: 2T arrowroot powder  or cornstarch 2T your choice; cocoa powder, bentonite clay, activated charcoal or ground cinnamon 6 drops of your choice essential oil (optional) Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a small container with a tight fitting lid. Apply lightly to greasy roots of hair using a makeup brush and gently rub in with fingers.
