Poisoned Orchard Cocktail

This week's adult Halloween recipe... Whether you are having a Halloween party or  just want to curl up on the couch, have a drink and watch  scary movies here's a drink you can enjoy. What you'll need: Dark rum Apple brandy Cran-apple juice Lemon juice Apples Water Sugar Cinnamon sticks Cloves Cardamom Ginger beer Cinnamon and sugar for garnish Dry ice (optional) Create: Before you make your cocktail you need to make  the apple spice syrup and give it time to steep.  In a small saucepan, combine two sliced apples  with water, sugar, cinnamon sticks, whole cloves  and cardamom. Cook the mixture until the sugar  dissolves and let it steep. After it steeps a while,  strain the mixture and now your apple spice syrup is ready. With this recipe that I found it doesn't say how  much liquor to use, so pour as much or as little as you want.  If you are just making a few cocktails at a time, add  the apple syrup, dark rum, apple brandy, cran...

Fall Simmering Potpourri

I love the smell of fall, I even like fall itself.  I just don't like what follows... winter!  However I love walking in my home and smelling  the fall scents that are so warm and inviting. Making this simmering potpourri is extremely easy! What you'll need: Tangerine or orange peels Cloves Cinnamon sticks or ground cinnamon Vanilla extract Pumpkin pie spice Water Small crockpot, saucepan or tea kettle You can choose how much you want to put in  of what, there really is no magic amount. I normally put  in more of my favorite scents. If using a tea kettle  or a sauce pan keep in mind you will have to keep  adding water to it. If you use a crockpot you  will not have to keep adding water and you can keep  it on even when you're asleep. Some other ideas that you can add are: Apple juice (instead of water) Cranberries Nutmeg Anise (one of my favorites) Dried fruit Coffee beans Have you ever made a simmering potpourri pot?  What do you normal...

Chocolate Dipped Banana Ghosts

So we have our Halloween recipe for kids  for this week. I love this idea, cute and semi healthy 👻 Make these a treat for a Halloween party or make  and enjoy during a family scary movie night. What you'll need: Bananas White chocolate or white vanilla candy coating Miniature chocolate chips Popsicle sticks Wax paper Have fun creating: Cut one of the ends of the banana off so there  is an end that is straight, put your popsicle  stick into the banana. Freeze the bananas for  about 30-60 minutes, you are going to want them  firm so they don't fall apart. Prep your melted chocolate or candy coating.  Dip your bananas into it and lay them onto some wax paper.  Make sure you put your chocolate chips onto your bananas  to make the ghosts' eyes and mouth  before the chocolate dries. Place back into the freezer until you are ready  to devour them. I would make these the day  you actually want to eat them.

So when you were locked up during covid, for  however long your state issued. Or maybe still trying  to limit where you are going, we need to be able to laugh  during the "covid times". Here is a little covid humor. My husband purchased a world map and then  gave me a dart and said, "throw this and wherever  it lands, that's where I'm taking you when  this pandemic ends." Turns out, we're spending  two weeks behind the fridge.
