DIY Mini Zen Garden

I have posted how hectic my life feels, I use to have

one of these that my son made for me. I sadly don't have

it anymore and I really have no place for one. However

it was very therapeutic. This is great if you have a desk at

work and get stressed out or if you have your own place

at home where you could put it and use it.

What you'll need:

Mini rake (found at craft stores)

Container; glass or wood

Sand; fine grain sand is best but you can also use

colored sand found at craft stores.

Plants; air plants are best if you want real plants as they

don't require soil. You can use fake plants as well.

Moss is a great addition to.

Essential oils; you want to use calming scents like

lavender and or chamomile. Just put a few drops in your

sand and mix around as you do your container, add

more as you need it.

Stones; use outdoor stones to give an authentic look,

just make sure you clean them first.

To create:

Fill your container with sand and essential oils.

You can also add a few drops of Jojoba oil when you

start spreading everything around. It will give your

sand a wet look to make your sand patterns stand out.

Place your stones, place a group in a corner or place

them far apart. Take some time to think about what

you'd the the stones to represent and how their

placement will affect your sand patterns.

Add your plants; if you are using something other than

air plants or fake make sure you use a divider around

 that area, like rocks.

Create your sand pattern with your mini rake...

you can rake the patterns however many times you want.

This is a great mindfulness practice and can ease

your mind when you need to destress or

process your thoughts.

DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts

I absolutely love these! I love decorating for Halloween, I have to say it is my favorite holiday. I don't think you can have enough decorations up! So when I found this DIY project I just had to share!   DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts     You can find styrofoam mannequin heads at wig shots. They normally can stand on their necks but for this project you need to suspend them to let the cloth flow freely. Materials: Cheesecloth Styrofoam mannequin heads Sponge brush Watered-down glue or fabric stiffener Screw eyes Monofilament Removable adhesive hooks (like command brand or painters tape).     Steps: Apply a layer of cheesecloth to the head, then generously brush over head and face with glue. Use hands to smooth the cloth into the facial features. Don't brush down the neck, stop at chin level so the fabric is loose below that. Repeat until you have 4 layers each being 7 feet long of cheesecloth...
