Pineapple Ginger Cleansing Juice

Why this drink? Fresh pineapple juice is rich in antioxidants

and aids in digestion. I have been on a pineapple juice

kick lately, no I haven't been making my own but hey it's

better than none. Honestly, I've been feeling a little bit better with it.

I think I will have to give this combo a try.

Pineapple is also a good source of Vitamin C, figer and manganese.

It also contains an enzyme called bromelain which comes from

the stalk, studies show that it is an anti-inflammatory. It also

helps to metabolize protein which can help burn

away unwanted fat.

Ginger root has so many great health benefits!

Anti-inflammatory, antioxidants and antibacterial benefits.

It also helps relieve congestion, improves blood circulation,

aids with digestion and stimulates our body's natural

detox process.

Turmeric is also great! It does have similar benefits to ginger.

Lime is rich with vitamins, minerals, flavonoids, antioxidants,

anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

How to make juice without a juicer:

Prep fruit and roots, chop ingredients into smaller pieces than

you would if feeding through a juicer. Blend all ingredients in

a high powered blender until smooth. Strain it through

a fine mesh strainer.

To make the detox Pineapple drink you will need:

3c fresh pineapple, peeled

2" fresh ginger root, peeled

3 pieces of turmeric

1 peeled lime

Create:

Peel and chop the pineapple, ginger, turmeric and lime

(if you don't have a juicer, peel everything still, chop the pineapple and lime small and grate the ginger and turmeric).

Push everything through a juicer or mix in a high power blender.

Stir the juice with a wooden spoon to blend well.

Pour 1/4 glass full of juice, 1/4 glass of crushed ice and add

water. Garnish with a lime slice if you would like.

This recipe makes 2 drinks.

Apple Ginger Fizz for Fall

The kids deserve a special drink for the fall besides apple cider. This is a great fall mocktail with a beautiful flavor combination. Not just for the kiddos. This makes 1 drink What  you'll need: 3 oz still apple cider 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice 6 mint leaves 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar Pinch powdered cinnamon 3 oz ginger ale Create: Place apple cider, lime juice, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar and a few ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. If you don't have a shaker, anything with a tight lid will work, such as a mason jar or drink bottle. Clap the mint together in your hands to release the scent, and add to the shaker. Shake for about 20-30 seconds until ingredients are combined. Pour into an ice filled glass and top with ginger ale. Stir gently, garnish with mint, dried citrus or a cinnamon stick, and serve.
