DIY Rainbow Decor for Kids

These are super cute, easy to make and would

make great Valentine decorations. Grab your kiddos

and supplies and have some fun for a bit.

What you'll need:

rainbow coloured paper

scissors

PVA glue

bright coloured ribbon

pegs

Create:

Begin by cutting the coloured paper into 3cm

wide strips. To make a rainbow decoration like ours,

you’ll need two strips in each of the following colors: purple, blue, green, yellow, orange and red

paper strips. But you can mix and match different

colors together depending on what you have at home.

Now you need to cut the rainbow of paper strips

into varying lengths. If you want to have purple

on the outside, that should be the longest strip

and every color after that needs to be at least

2cm shorter than the last.

On one of the shortest red strips, dab a little glue

on the ends and press together to form a

tear shape. Continue dabbing glue onto the

ends of the orange strip and form the tear

shape this time around the red one. Repeat until

you’ve used up all the colors in that set of strips.

Create a second teardrop with the rest of the

rainbow paper strips.

Between gluing you might need to use the pegs

to keep the teardrop base together, or simply place

the pegs on at the end whilst the glue dries.

Once dry, remove the pegs. Cut a length of ribbon

to about 30cm and fold in half to create a loop.

Apply some glue on one side of each of the teardrops

and sandwich the ribbon in-between. Press the

teardrop shapes together until they look like a heart

and peg together to dry.

I absolutely love these! I love decorating for Halloween, I have to say it is my favorite holiday. I don't think you can have enough decorations up! So when I found this DIY project I just had to share!   DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts     You can find styrofoam mannequin heads at wig shots. They normally can stand on their necks but for this project you need to suspend them to let the cloth flow freely. Materials: Cheesecloth Styrofoam mannequin heads Sponge brush Watered-down glue or fabric stiffener Screw eyes Monofilament Removable adhesive hooks (like command brand or painters tape).     Steps: Apply a layer of cheesecloth to the head, then generously brush over head and face with glue. Use hands to smooth the cloth into the facial features. Don't brush down the neck, stop at chin level so the fabric is loose below that. Repeat until you have 4 layers each being 7 feet long of cheesecloth...
