Ways to Save Money on Groceries

Price compare with grocery store apps.

All the store's ads are now on their website or app.

Some stores even go as far as to tell you if there is a digital

coupon or even a Sunday paper coupon. Make sure you are

checking store ads and comparing prices.

Shop with a calculator; if you're trying to stick to a budget

then decide on your top dollar you want to spend at the store.

Hold yourself accountable, if you have gone over what you

wanted to spend double check your cart. If there are things

that you really don't need, put them back. Also have a list

and try to stick to that list.

Plan meals on what you already have in your pantry. Look up

recipes that go with those items and make your

meals around that.

Use a smaller cart if possible, the smaller the cart the less

you can get in there. This is great for an impromptu trip to

a grocery store, where you only need a few items. Don't go for

the large cart because you will tend to throw more in there.

If you don't need a cart, get a basket.

Buy in bulk; if there are items you get at the store every week,

bi-weekly or monthly save money by going to somewhere like

Sam's Club where you can get those items in bulk, it costs

more money upfront but saves you money in the long run.

Vacuum seal meat and freeze it. When meat is on sale for

a good price but you may not have room in your freezer for

large packs of meat, invest in a vacuum sealer. That way you

can make the packages smaller and you have saved money

again in the long run.

Look at the bottom shelves and outer aisles. The top shelves

normally have named brand items and the outer aisles normally

have good sale items. Which also leads to going generic!

Generic foods are made by brand name companies so it's

really the same, just cheaper!

Buy some veggies that are frozen. You get more than

in a can and normally have leftovers you can use again.

Sometimes they are on sale for a really good deal.

DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts

I absolutely love these! I love decorating for Halloween, I have to say it is my favorite holiday. I don't think you can have enough decorations up! So when I found this DIY project I just had to share!   DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts     You can find styrofoam mannequin heads at wig shots. They normally can stand on their necks but for this project you need to suspend them to let the cloth flow freely. Materials: Cheesecloth Styrofoam mannequin heads Sponge brush Watered-down glue or fabric stiffener Screw eyes Monofilament Removable adhesive hooks (like command brand or painters tape).     Steps: Apply a layer of cheesecloth to the head, then generously brush over head and face with glue. Use hands to smooth the cloth into the facial features. Don't brush down the neck, stop at chin level so the fabric is loose below that. Repeat until you have 4 layers each being 7 feet long of cheesecloth...
