German Pork Chops & Sauerkraut

We are going to celebrate Oktoberfest on the blog

since it has been cancelled everywhere, thanks to covid.

So this whole week will be nothing but German dishes;

oh my do I love some German food!

Of course the first dish is going to be a traditional must have!

What you'll need:

8 center cut pork chops

2lbs sauerkraut, drained

1 large red apple, diced

1 onion, chopped

1c brown sugar

1T caraway seeds

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Heat a large nonstick

skillet over medium high heat, and brown the pork chops

on both sides, about 5 minutes per side. Place the chops

into a 9x13 baking dish.

Mix the sauerkraut, apple, onion, brown sugar and caraway

seeds in a bowl until well combined and spread the sauerkraut

mixture over the chops. Cover the dish with foil.

Bake in the oven for about 45 minutes or until the center of

the chop reads 145 degrees.

This recipe serves 8 if you only eat one chop lol
