Chewy Noels

My mom made these as I was growing up and out of all the

Christmas cookies that were made these were by far my favorite!

I have made these for my kids as well. You could serve these

as a dessert on Christmas eve if you wanted and you could add some hot buttered rum along with it. The recipe below will make 18.

What you'll need:

2T butter

1c packed brown sugar

5T all purpose flour

1/8tsp baking soda

2 beaten eggs

1tsp vanilla extract

1c chopped walnuts or pecans

1/4c powdered sugar for dusting

Create:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees, melt the butter in a 7x11" baking dish,

tilt the pan to coat all of the sides and set the pan aside.

In a medium bowl stir the brown sugar, flour and baking soda.

Mix in the eggs and vanilla until smooth and then stir in your nuts of choice.

Pour over the melted butter.

Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until the edges begin to brown.

Once cool, cut into squares and dust with the powdered sugar.
