Holi-Day

This post is about a holi-day. There is a kids DIY craft along

with a recipe for kids and adults to enjoy while spending time together.

First....

Gingerbread art; what you'll need is craft paper, craft paint and a metal gingerbread cookie cutter. Let your child dip the cookie cutter into

different inks to arrange their perception of art.

Kids snack; This recipe has 20 servings.

What you'll need:

1 can salted large peanuts

1/2 11.4oz bag Christmas M&M's

1/2 11.4oz bag Christmas peanut butter M&M's

2 bags sour cherry balls (small)

2c mini pretzels

2c mini marshmallows

Chex muddy buddies (how to make next)

Chex Muddy Buddies;

9c rice chex

1/2c creamy peanut butter

1c semi sweet chocolate chips

1 1/2c powdered sugar

Create:

Start by making the chex mix so it has time to cool.

In a small microwave safe bowl, add the peanut butter

and chocolate chips. Microwave for 1 minutes and stir, add up

to another 30 seconds until everything is smooth and creamy.

Pour the chocolate over the cereal in a large bowl and stir to combine.

Place half of the powdered sugar in a large ziploc bag, add half

of the chex and seal shut, shake to coat the cereal.

Pour out onto parchment paper or a cookie sheet to cool and repeat

with remaining cereal and powdered sugar. In a large bowl once the muddy buddies are cool, add all ingredients and toss to combine.

Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.

Adult drink; Cranberry Mimosa

Combine 1 part cranberry juice and 2 parts champagne or sparkling

wine into a champagne flute. Top with fresh cranberries and a sprig

of rosemary if you want to go with the extra touch.

Follow the crafts with your family's favorite Christmas movie

while you eat the snack and enjoy your drink.

DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts

I absolutely love these! I love decorating for Halloween, I have to say it is my favorite holiday. I don't think you can have enough decorations up! So when I found this DIY project I just had to share!   DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts     You can find styrofoam mannequin heads at wig shots. They normally can stand on their necks but for this project you need to suspend them to let the cloth flow freely. Materials: Cheesecloth Styrofoam mannequin heads Sponge brush Watered-down glue or fabric stiffener Screw eyes Monofilament Removable adhesive hooks (like command brand or painters tape).     Steps: Apply a layer of cheesecloth to the head, then generously brush over head and face with glue. Use hands to smooth the cloth into the facial features. Don't brush down the neck, stop at chin level so the fabric is loose below that. Repeat until you have 4 layers each being 7 feet long of cheesecloth...
