My
husband loves to smoke meat, you don't have to have a smoker you can
actually use your charcoal grill. Just google how to smoke meat on
your grill.
I
always buy a large brisket because I can make 3-4 meals out of it.
The last one I bought was 14lbs, it did cost me $30. If you divide
that by 3 it comes out to be $10 per meal and I have a family of 4 so
you can't beat that!
Make
sure you season your brisket well, top, bottom and all sides,
whatever seasoning you like.
What
you want to do is get your grill ready to smoke we normally use
hickory or cherry wood chunks for the beef brisket. Once your grill
is ready place your brisket on the grate (make sure you have a foil
pan under it to catch the drippings). You want your temperature to
get to around 250 degrees. You will smoke a brisket for 1 hour to an
hour and 15 minutes per pound. For our last brisket my hubby smoked
it about 15 hours. He normally starts it in the middle of the night.
Once
it is cooked, wrap it in foil and put in a cooler for a couple hours
to let it rest. After that you can cut it into slices or shred it
however you want to do it.
