Living with Lupus? Here are Some Home Remedies to Try!

I have a friend that has Lupus and I know she struggles often. She is on medication but even with medication just like anything else there are other things you can do on top of your medication to try and help your symptoms. I also wanted to post about this because May is Lupus Awareness Month!

Below are 8 home remedies you can try.

Turmeric
Ginger
Apple Cider Vinegar
Coconut Oil (put a teaspoon in your coffee or hot tea)
Epsom Salt
Tulsi or Holy Basil (you can chew the leaves up or make a tea out of it)
Flax-seeds
Green Tea

The first 3 things I take myself for my joints and muscles. I am not big on the taste of them so I buy them in capsule form.

What is Lupus?
Is an autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the healthy tissues instead of the foreign invaders in the body. This results in persistent inflammation affecting the joints, lungs, kidneys, endocrine glands and the brain. Its symptoms are quite similar to other diseases such as Lyme disease, thyroid disorders and fibromyalgia, which is why it usually goes undiagnosed. Women are more prone to lupus than men. In India, 8-9 people in a group of one lakh are affected with lupus. And this condition is worse when it affects kids, men and older adults. While some lupus patients may lead a normal life, some patients may even succumb to the disease. Experts are not very sure of the causes of this condition but they believe that it is a combination of genetics and environmental factors. Chronic infections, stress and reaction of some medications are also believed to be the cause of lupus.

DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts

I absolutely love these! I love decorating for Halloween, I have to say it is my favorite holiday. I don't think you can have enough decorations up! So when I found this DIY project I just had to share!   DIY Cheesecloth Ghosts     You can find styrofoam mannequin heads at wig shots. They normally can stand on their necks but for this project you need to suspend them to let the cloth flow freely. Materials: Cheesecloth Styrofoam mannequin heads Sponge brush Watered-down glue or fabric stiffener Screw eyes Monofilament Removable adhesive hooks (like command brand or painters tape).     Steps: Apply a layer of cheesecloth to the head, then generously brush over head and face with glue. Use hands to smooth the cloth into the facial features. Don't brush down the neck, stop at chin level so the fabric is loose below that. Repeat until you have 4 layers each being 7 feet long of cheesecloth...
