Where to Find Good Workout Information

Okay so this post is not your typical workout post, I want you guys to like coming to my blog! There are a lot of great sources to find out good workouts, form and more! So with that being said, here are the top places to go (besides me lol) to get your workout information.... This blog is for women so the first place I suggest is Women's Health Magazine My next source would be BodyBuilding.com My 3 rd source would be YouTube My last source would be any workout magazine The best thing about any of these sources even mine is you can tailor them to your needs, to what you can physically do. Make it more, make it less, take some from on source and add it with another source. The world is your oyster, they say so go on and grab it!

Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

There are a lot of benefits to organic raw apple cider vinegar, I know a lot of different uses, I found a new one today! Toner for your face!! You are going to need: Filtered Water Raw Apple Cider Vinegar Lavender Essential Oil (it's going on your body, I can't stress enough not the kind you buy at Wal-mart, I use the NOW brand, it's cheap on eBay) You are going to want to mix 1/3 of vinegar to 2/3 of water OR ½ vinegar and ½ water (for oily skin) 5-10 drops of the essential oil You do need to store this in a glass bottle (you can find those on eBay too, I normally buy the blue or the amber bottles) Use as often as you would use your store bought toner or more because it's natural no harsh chemicals.

Caffeine; Are You Drinking too Much?

I gotta say I love my coffee in the morning. I have high blood pressure so I have started buying the half and half coffee. I have issues with fatigue and every once in a while will drink a 5 hour because honestly I've drank coffee for so long I don't think it does anything for me. Could we be getting in too much caffeine in a day though? Up to 400mg of caffeine a day "appears" to be safe for most healthy adults. That equals up to about 4 cups of coffee, 10 cans of pop or 2 energy shots. Caffeine in powder or liquid form can actually provide toxic levels of caffeine. Just 1tsp of powdered caffeine = 28 cups of coffee! It can cause serious health problems and even death! Adolescents and women who are pregnant should take in less than 200mg daily! If you drink more caffeine than you should you can suffer from headaches, insomnia, nervousness, irritability, frequent urination, fast heartbeat and muscle tremors. If you have any of those sympt

I absolutely love this quote, it's not for working out of motivation but it is powerful! Love is giving someone the ability to destroy you, but trusting them not to.

Thai Broiled Salmon

I have been trying to find some recipes that don't have a lot of ingredients since it is hard these days to find stuff at the store. The sauce is homemade and it actually doesn't have as many ingredients as you would think it would. I love Thai sauce so to find a homemade recipe I was excited! I love Salmon! What you will need for the Thai Sauce: 1/2c maple syrup 1/4c water 2T white or rice vinegar 1t cornstarch 1 small garlic clove, grated 1tsp salt 1/2tsp red chili pepper flakes Instructions: In a small saucepan, whisk all ingredients until combined. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer for 7-10 minutes or until thick. Transfer to a glass jar and you can use with the fish, meat or even veggies for dipping. The sauce will stay good in the fridge for a couple weeks. Now you're going to want 6x6 oz wild salmon fillets, skin off or you can take it off. You are going to need 1/2c + 2T of your Thai sauce, divided, 3T gre

The Benefits of Hiking

Hiking outdoors is great, you don't need a mountain, just a good path at a park with hills, or if you live in the mountains or near them go for it! First make sure you have plenty of water to keep you hydrated. There are perks to hiking outdoors, fresh air, nice views, sounds and smells of nature. It's a great cardio workout and it can.... Lower your risk of heart disease Improve you blood pressure and blood sugar levels Boost bone density (since hiking is a weight-bearing exercise) Build strength in your glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and the muscles in your hips and lower legs. Strengthen your core Improve balance Help control your weight It even boosts your mood!!! New to hiking? Start slow, Rome wasn't built in a day. It is lower impact on your joints because it's not pavement but be careful not to trip.

DIY Lip Scrub

Very simple recipe, works great for chapped lips! You should have everything you need at home. I use this once a week, in the winter I use it a bit more. You can mix in a little bowl and put on lips or what I have done is buy the jello shot cups and made batches because it will stay good for a long time. All you need is... 3T of sugar (I use granulated not brown on my lips) 1 1/2T oil, Olive Oil, Coconut Oil (fractionated) or Almond Oil 3 drops of whatever essential oil you want to use (the scent doesn't matter) That's it, all you need to do is apply to your lips, once applied I normally rub it around in a circular motion for a couple minutes and then rinse off with luke warm water.

The Importance of Hydration

It is crucial to stay hydrated for many reasons! Regulate your body temperature, keeping your joints well lubricated, prevent infections, deliver nutrients to cells and keeping your organs functioning properly. It also improves sleep quality, cognitionan and mood. It use to be said that you should drink 8 cups of water a day. Experts are now saying you should drink 11 cups a day for women and 16 cups a day for men. It doesn't have to be plain water. You can buy flavored water, the water packets. You can even use decaff tea (caffeinated beverages dehydrate you) It is best to stay away from sugar sweetened beverages when trying to stay hydrated though the experts are saying it takes away from what you are getting from your water. Even energy drinks and vitamin waters are loaded with sugars, those are best to drink after a workout or a few while you are sick because of the electrolytes. When you are active or sick it is the most crucial time to keep an eye

So the title may sound extreme don't get alarmed I'm not telling you to workout like Arnold...lol... if you have weights and equipment at home you can start this now. If not unfortunately you will have to wait till the gyms open back up. This is what we do Monday – Thursday when we are working on our muscles with machines and free weights. The hubs lifts heavy, even my young son can do some high weights, me not so much. What you want to do is when you are working with higher weights you do lower amount of reps.
