For 28 years I have lived with depression & anxiety. I was diagnosed at 14. I have had plenty of ups and downs; changes to meds, not taking meds oh my the list goes on.
Right now depression is at a high rate and more common that you think, but there is still a stigma! Did you know that there is more than 17 million adults (not even children/teens) that have depression in the USA?
Here are some signs to watch out for:
changes in sleep
changes in appetite
lack of concentration
loss of energy
lack of interest in activities
hopelessness of guilty thoughts
changes in movement
physical aches and pains
suicidal thoughts
There are some people that have depression for a short time, something changed in their life or there are people that have seasonal depression. Then there are others (like me) that live with it all their lives.
It can be brought on by trama, genetics, life circumstances, brain changes, other medical conditions and drug and alcohol misuse.
If you feel like you have any sqymptoms please go to your doctor right away! For more information please click here.
