More About Intermittent Fasting

I am still learning a lot about IF, I also have not gone above the 16:8 window, which stands for 16 hours of fasting and an 8 hour window of eating.

There are other hourly equations. There is even OMAD, which means you fast for 23 hours and eat 1 meal in that 24 hour window.

Below are some benefits to IF...

Weight Loss
Increased Fat Burning
Lowered Blood Insulin and Sugar Levels
Possibly Reversal of Type 2 Diabetes
Possibly Improve Mental Clarity and Concentration
Possibly Increase Energy
Possibly Increased Growth Hormone, at least for a short time
Possibly Improved Blood Cholesterol
Possibly Live a Longer Life
Possibly Activation of Cellular Cleansing by Stimulating Autophagy
Possibly Reduction of Inflammation

So there is a list of all good things that can come from IF.

It is very important you talk to your doctor before starting anything above a 16:8 window! If you have had weight loss surgery you want to wait a couple years before doing this because your body is still trying to get the nutrients it needs from the little amount you already eat.

I started the 16:8 and lost 7lbs in about a week, week and a half. I want to work up to a longer fasting time!
It is very important to stay hydrated, you can drink black coffee (I would suggest decaff because caffeine can make you dehydrated), you can drink tea and water while you are fasting. Anything with calories breaks your fast. It is also recommended to get some pink Himalayan salt and suck on a few when you are feeling hungry, it helps curve your appetite and also helps keep you hydrated.

You should eat healthy during your eating window, some people do not but to me I think it defeats the purpose.

TO ME, I think you should continue to workout, will help you lose your weight even faster.

You can do IF even if you are not wanting to lose weight, you may have other health issues that you can benefit from.

If you want to learn more information, google is your best friend BUT remember if it's a group it's more opinions, find doctors talking about it, I think that's where you learn the most.

Apple Ginger Fizz for Fall

The kids deserve a special drink for the fall besides apple cider. This is a great fall mocktail with a beautiful flavor combination. Not just for the kiddos. This makes 1 drink What  you'll need: 3 oz still apple cider 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice 6 mint leaves 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar Pinch powdered cinnamon 3 oz ginger ale Create: Place apple cider, lime juice, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar and a few ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. If you don't have a shaker, anything with a tight lid will work, such as a mason jar or drink bottle. Clap the mint together in your hands to release the scent, and add to the shaker. Shake for about 20-30 seconds until ingredients are combined. Pour into an ice filled glass and top with ginger ale. Stir gently, garnish with mint, dried citrus or a cinnamon stick, and serve.
