DIY Body Butter

I will never forget this day, my friend Krista and I were working on making our products for sale. I was putting some sugar scrub into a jar and I couldn't get the lid on. I turned it over and tried to push the lid into the jar by pushing it into the counter, what you see below is the result.

Needless to say I went to the hospital for stitches, the next day I woke up and my hand hurt to bend and itched like crazy. So I rubbed some of our body butter on it and it helped. However because of what it is made of it is greasy. So I decided to put it on and then put plastic gloves on. I even did that when I went to bed. The next day I woke up and my hand looked like this....

Making the body butter is easy and it really soaks into your skin, I found after my hand was healed the best time to use it was right after my shower. I would lather my body with it and then pat myself dry, I would stay moisturized for the rest of the day. I was soft and smelled good too. Below is a picture of how we use to sell it.

Now are you ready for the recipe? You will need to get everything online except the coconut oil, I get it from eBay its the cheapest!

1/4c shea butter
1/4c cocoa butter
1/4c coconut oil
1/4c sweet almond oil
10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil (I always used either orange or lime, it made it smell like a pie)

You will want to use a mixer and mix everything together until it looks like icing. I did find the mason jars were hard to get it out when it started running low, so for my own use I went to dollar tree and bought cheap containers to put it in.

Apple Ginger Fizz for Fall

The kids deserve a special drink for the fall besides apple cider. This is a great fall mocktail with a beautiful flavor combination. Not just for the kiddos. This makes 1 drink What  you'll need: 3 oz still apple cider 1 oz freshly squeezed lime juice 6 mint leaves 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar Pinch powdered cinnamon 3 oz ginger ale Create: Place apple cider, lime juice, cinnamon, apple cider vinegar and a few ice cubes into a cocktail shaker. If you don't have a shaker, anything with a tight lid will work, such as a mason jar or drink bottle. Clap the mint together in your hands to release the scent, and add to the shaker. Shake for about 20-30 seconds until ingredients are combined. Pour into an ice filled glass and top with ginger ale. Stir gently, garnish with mint, dried citrus or a cinnamon stick, and serve.
