Hiking
outdoors is great, you don't need a mountain, just a good path at a
park with hills, or if you live in the mountains or near them go for
it!
First
make sure you have plenty of water to keep you hydrated.
There
are perks to hiking outdoors, fresh air, nice views, sounds and
smells of nature.
It's
a great cardio workout and it can....
Lower
your risk of heart disease
Improve
you blood pressure and blood sugar levels
Boost
bone density (since hiking is a weight-bearing exercise)
Build
strength in your glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and the muscles in
your hips and lower legs.
Strengthen
your core
Improve
balance
Help
control your weight
It
even boosts your mood!!!
New
to hiking? Start slow, Rome wasn't built in a day.
It
is lower impact on your joints because it's not pavement but be
careful not to trip.
